My father will shortly be coming to the UK with a English Visa permit which is allowing him to stay in the UK for 6 months. At christmas he wants to visit my sister in Switzerland. He has a Turkish passport and a English Visa, I was wondering if i would have to purchase a Switzerland Visa also for him to go there? Or if his English visa allows him to go to Switzerland.

Switzerland is not part of the UK (yet). So yes, a Swiss visa is needed.
