Pakistani Embassy in Bern

This may be a bit of a long shot but I've been trying to call the Pakistani embassy in Bern for the last few days using the number on this website.

The answering machine says 12-2 for phone calls but it says that even when I call within those hours. Yes I'm aware it says something different on the website

Has anyone managed to contact them to ask questions? I've sent an email but I'm not holding out much hope.

Would it be worth taking a trip to Bern while they are open to ask my questions?

I.e, call between 12 and 1, lunch break, then 2 until 3.

Have you tried this information to escalate to Mr Kalim Khan and piss off your country men?

Yes...I can read. I called yesterday at 14h15. The answering machine said that telephone help is provided between 12h00-14h00. So I called today at 13h00 and nobody picked up and it kept saying to call between 12h00-14h00 for telephone help.

i.e. someone forgot to turn the answering machine off and is enjoying the sun.

Probably a good idea. The amount of information that contradicts itself on the website is staggering.

Apply for a Non-resident ID card for visa free entry into the country...please enclose a valid Pakistani Passport. If I had a valid Pakistani passport then why would I was an ID card for visa free entry?!

Also why is the fee $25? Why isn't there a Swiss Franc amount

And breath....

They're probably out with Mutton Rogan josh by the river enjoying the afternoon.

I'd be surprised if it's just $25. For my kids I wanted to have a non-resident card for India (as they are not Indian citizens) and it cost me 335 CHF per child for a 20 year permit.

If you ever have the opportunity to visit them in Bern you will be surprised to see that all the Douchebag consulates are more or less in the same neighborhood.

The Big Boys are on the other side of town.

335CHF...is a lot. The NICOP card is basically a plastic thing made in the back room I think so should be cheaper

I don't mind taking a few hours off to go to the embassy and ask the questions and lodge the application at the same time maybe...but how do I know if they will even be open given the current track record

Any chance you can contact Swisspak for help? Or, it look like office hours for in-person visits are from 10:00 - 12:00. Why not call then, even though the website says to call after 12:00? Worth a shot...

What can I say? My countrymen are Douchebags. And before you wonder, I got a backroom made type of passport looking document for my kids too.

Hmm... OCI card is lifelong and not 20 years unless you got some other type of card. Also the visa has clearly "LIFELONG" printed on it.

Hi Porsch1909,
I'm in the process of getting a Pak tourist visa as well, and could you advise how long it took you to get it done once submitted?
Thanks

Re: Pakistani Embassy in Bern

Fresh info:
- Embassy operator indicated processing time is about 3-4 days
- A tourist visa applicant needs to present a letter of confirmation from a Pakistan tour operator
