EU Husband moving to Switzerland

Hi, I will be getting married in 2 weeks to my Dutch guy. He will be moving from Holland to Switzerland, but will still be working in Holland until he is able to find employment in Switzerland. Would he be issued a permit when he signs himself into the commune or does he have to wait until the 3 months are over? I am a non EU and have been living in Switzerland with a B-Permit for the past 10 years, but am in the process of applying for a C-permit. Apparently he needs to prove residence in Switzerland to the authorities in Holland by way of a residence permit.

The search button is your friend.

You might start here: EU Permits - A few bullet points

Also, if you have been here so long, you must know where your Kantonal authorities are located, give them a call and ask them in your best Sweizertutsch...

Re: EU Husband moving to Switzerland

Hi, thanks for the reply. I have been searching "search button" for months now and just can't seem to find the answers relating to my situation, that is why I have asked this question on the forum. I have read the bullet points and it states that he can be issued a permit for 6 months until he finds employment....and all permits seem to be issued via a working contract. I have read in posts and on internet that because he is EU he can live here for 3 months without a permit...but that is not my question....he needs a residence permit to prove to the authorities in Holland that he is living in Switzerland....can he get a permit immediately once he has signed into our commune......Although I have been living here for 10 years my skill in French is....ummm...lets just say "bad" and as for german, well just non existant. No knocking me on my language thingie pls....it has it's reasons .
I can't find anything that explaines if he can get a residence permit right from the start.
Thanks again

Yes, he can get a job-seeker's permit within a few days.

You will be married before he moves here, right? Then he gets a dependent B permit. He can look for a job or you can support him! Either way he registers 8 days after he arrives. His actual permit will take a couple of months to be in his hands but he will have a letter that he can send to Holland that he has registered his residence here.

But you've certainly perfected the use of that ........... button.

As far as I know, assuming your income is high enough, what miniMia said is correct. He will be eligible for the same permit you have, B or C when it comes.

I'm not sure he'll get a C permit. I think he has to start with a B first.
