Am I a Swiss resident?

Hi there,

I am reading the paperwork required to apply for a registered partnership:
  • One of the two partners must hold Swiss nationality or be resident in Switzerland.
I know it sounds like a very silly question, but am I a resident?
I have a 5 yrs valid B permit and my job contract is long term ongoing.

I think somewhere I have heard that to apply for a registered partnership or marry a non EU national, I would need to be have lived in Switzerland for 6 months at least. I can't remember where I heard that, but still not sure...

Thanks!

Re: Am I a Swiss resident?

Well are you living in Switzerland then your residing here(making you at the least a temporary resident of switzerland, (if your meaning are you a swiss permeant resident, well that probably goes with length of stay etc)

Re: Am I a Swiss resident?

A B permit means you are a resident here and the C-permit (which you can get after having a B permit for five years if you're from the EU-EFTA) gives you permanent residency. Its the equivalent of the green card in the USA.
