De-registering then re-registering...residence permit question

Hello!

To make a long story short, I moved with my husband to Switzerland in September and had a B permit. I de-registered in Glattbrugg because of a suposed job abroad for a year. Well...the job fell through and I want to move back to Switzerland to be with him. I'm non-EU (USA).

1. Do I have to go through the same process of getting the entry visa at the embassy abroad through my husband's employer (husband is non-EU too...fyi)

2. If so, is it easier/better if I do this from the states as opposed to on a tourist visa in Switzerland?

Thanks in advance for the help. I saw a lot of posts on de-registering....but not de-registering then re-registering. Uff.

How long have you actually been gone? If it's less than 6 months you might be able to get it back without him having to apply for family reunification for you again.

I've been gone 2 months. That would be great. He's going to the admin in glattbrugg today.

Well, it'll depend on what they say, but you might be lucky as it's such a short time.
