attestation de départ and proof of taxes

Hello,

live and employed in Geneva, on a B permit. My permit expires on March 31. My rent contract also ends at this date.

I am quite confused about the formalities involved in leaving this country. I would appreciate your advice on the following.

1) if I understand correctly, together with a D FORM I should submit to the OCPM, in order to get an attestation de départ, a document proving that I have paid my taxes; I should receive this proof from L'Administration fiscale cantonale. Now my last salary will be deposited into my bank account on March 31. Will I be able to receive the proof for paying my taxes before March 31?
2)
a) WIll I receive the attestation de départ at the offices of the OCPM, immediately after submitting the D FORM and proof of paying taxes, or does it take time? If so, how long?
b) In case it takes time - am I allowed, during the period between submitting the D FORM and receiving the attestation, to travel abroad and return to Geneva to get it?
3) In the D FORM I must state the date of my departure. Let's say it is March 31. In case I receive the attestation before this date, e.g. on March 25, should I still wait to March 31 before leaving the country? In other words - should I expect any problems at the borders police gate in the airport in case I leave on March 25?
Thank you very much in advance

Even residents of CH can leave the country, why should have any problems flying out when still a resident? It's rare that anyone even looks at my passport when leaving CH except at the gate boarding the plane.

You can get the paperwork done several weeks before, if tax is deducted I doubt you will have an issue with taxes.

Re: attestation de départ and proof of taxes

Thank you very much Fatmanfilms!

The problem is that I will not be able to do the paperwork a few weeks in advance. I'm travelling outside CH and will be able to return there only about two weeks before my permit expires.

So, if I understand you correctly, I will be able to leave CH after submitting the D FORM and proof of paying taxes and before receiving the attestation de depart? Can I ask them to send the attestation to my address in my home country?

Thanks a lot

Re: attestation de départ and proof of taxes

An update:

The OCPD has informed me that in order to receive an attestation de départ I don't need a proof of taxes.

I wonder then what is the purpose of submitting a Formulaire Départ impôts à la source to the Service des impôts à la source.

Best
