Immigration Correspondence

Is all correspondence received from immigration via registered mail
or do they only send the new/renewed permits via registered mail?

Re: Immigration Correspondence

My permits have always arrived in the regular post.

Perhaps it's a Basel thing, but I've never had to sign for anything from the Migrationsamt.

Re: Immigration Correspondence

In Zurich they send it by registered post and it takes around 2 weeks to arrive once you pay fees at kreisburo.

Other correspondence they send by A-post normally.

Re: Immigration Correspondence

I was waiting for an urgent letter from Migrationsamt. It was written on 02.03.2015, dispatched on 05.03.2015 and received it today 09.03.2015. It was sent by B-Post .

you are lucky. when they wanted urgent documents from us they wrote by B-post to the kreisbüro who then summoned us by B-post under pain of fine and with orders to bring the wrong documents.

the migrationsamt are experts at communication
