Consultancy in Switzerland from UK company

Hello forum.

I have been asked to conduct engineering consultancy in Switzerland. I work for a UK company and they are in the process of agreeing a contract with a Swiss company for the delivery of a consultant (me) to undertake tasks for the Swiss company in Switzerland. We are talking about 1-2 weeks a month for 12 months. I will also do some work on behalf of the Swiss company in the UK. I remain throughout an employee of the UK company and paid in the UK.

The Swiss company have stated that I will not require any sort of work permit or residency permit as I will not be paid by them and will only be in Switzerland for short periods; they have told me I could stay up to 90 days without any issues.

It will be just myself (family stay in the UK) and I plan on flying in and using hotels and hire cars.

Is the Swiss company correct in their statement about permits? Any gotchas with this type of arrangement?

Your knowledge and experience on this matter would be appreciated.

Max

Re: Consultancy in Switzerland from UK company

It looks like you need to register. Full details here: https://www.bfm.admin.ch/bfm/en/home...verfahren.html

If you're going to exceed 90 days in a calendar year you do need a work permit.

Quote:
Companies posting workers to Switzerland can use the registration procedure for up to 90 individual working days per company and calendar year. The registration has to take place at least 8 days before taking up work in Switzerland. No registration is required for work lasting no more than 8 days per calendar year ...

If it is 2 weeks per month for 12 months, then you do need a permit and furthermore sense it sound very much like body shopping your company may also need to be registered.

That is 120 work days; you will need a work permit.
