Visa, Permit, Switzerland

hello all,

I have a query regarding transit visa, I am Divya nagar, Student at Indian Institute of technology Jodhpur, India.
I am going to visit Switzerland during this summer as a student trainee, I got my visa clear with starting date 11th may 2015, But My flight is on 10th may 2015 from Mumbai and it will reach to Zurich on 10th may at 22:00. So I just want to know that is it possible to travel with that visa as it has starting date 11th may 2015 or do i need some transit visa to stay on Zurich airport for 2 hours or i can't travel at all on 10th may.

Please reply to this thread as soon as possible so that i can decide accordingly. Please give your suggestions what can be done?

Re: Visa, Permit, Switzerland

walk slowly at the airport. And check this with the local Swiss embassy.

Change your ticket if you are so worried. Obvious, isn't it?

Re: Visa, Permit, Switzerland

You won't get any transit visa for just 2 hours. You'll either have to change the flight or hang around outside passport control until after midnight.

Lesson - never book a flight until you know exactly when you can travel.

Re: Visa, Permit, Switzerland

Your bigger problem will be the airline, not the airport. The airline might not let you board if you're not eligible to enter Switzerland yet. I suppose one option would be to "accidentally" miss your flight so the airline has to send you on the next flight and then you'll definitely arrive on the correct day. If you're desperate for options and willing to take risks, that is... Otherwise do as suggested and change the flight now.

Call the airline, ask them, they are the ones that will let you on the flight or not.
