Anyone travelled to munich for swiss B visa?

My family has just arrived in Zurich from Australia and we got our B visas issued in Sydney, but there was an error and my 2 year old sons visa was not issued. We were advised to go to Munich to have it issued. Has anyone done this before? I wonder if I need to make an appointment. I assume I need to do it before our two week time limit to go and register with the canton?

Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

Re: Anyone travelled to munich for swiss B visa?

If you applied for it in Sydney then you'd need to contact the embassy/consulate there to get them to send the necessary paperwork to Munich so it can be issued there. Not sure how long that would take, but it should be easy enough once Munich has what it needs to issue it. Just hope that Sydney don't decide to be awkward and insist you return there to have it issued!

Didn't you check all this before you left?

Of course I checked that I *could* get the visa in Munich before I left Australia. I just wondered if anyone had done it and how they found the process.

No, I meant didn't you check that you had all the visas issued before you left the embassy in Australia? If you applied for them altogether didn't you notice that your son's was missing then?

Re: Anyone travelled to munich for swiss B visa?

Yes I did notice. It would be hard to not notice that. They made a mistake and didn't process my sons when they processed the rest of us. So I was advised to get his visa in Munich or at any other Swiss embassy- munich is just closest. My question is not about applying or if I needed to apply. I just wondered if Swiss embassy in Munich was easy to navigate. Was there a long line? Was it only open in the morning and so on... So have you been to the embassy in Munich?

No, sorry, I haven't. I can only suggest you call or e-mail them to arrange to get the visa stamped in your son's passport.
