Received C Permit

Quite a non important question but I am wondering how it works.

I applied for a C permit (Formerly was on a B) and received it yesterday however they only sent the slip for the right hand side of the booklet and not a new C permit booklet.

Is this normal and I need to go to my commune to get the rest?

I'm based in Vaud.

Re: Received C Permit

No, theyre expecting you to continue to use the left hand photo side that was on your old B. This saves you getting a new photo etc, and a trip to the Commune just to pick it up.

It does mean the counterfoil number for the paper document will be inconsistent, but this is not an issue as your other central and conatonal reference numbers (beginning with VD etc) will be valid.

The most important thing is that your personal details are correct including your date of entry to CH.

For perspective: some applicants need to do language tests, extended credit and criminal reference checks etc. and wait 10 years to even be eligible to apply for the document you have received relatively straightforwardly. Congrats!

Did the slip of paper you received have a large C at the top right ? Illustrated is a B permit.

Re: Received C Permit

Yep sorry I should have been clearer! I got everything bar the little booklet! Should I go to the commune to get that as my old B permit one is falling apart!

And yep I don't take for granted just how easy it was for me to get! I have plenty of friends who are here much longer than I and more integrated but will be waiting alot more years

But as compensation, they probably have the privilege of paying tax in not one, but two locations.
You should get one of these and, yes, ask at your community for a replacement plastic cover:

Re: Received C Permit

Yes, I'd goi along to the commune. They may charge you 2CHF for a new cover.
Dont forget to send a copy to your employer as they shouldnt deduct taxes at source any longer. Time to open your tax savings account until you get your pay tax by instalments bill and letter from your commune.

One of the benefits of your new permit, is that you can now freeze it for 2-3 years on departure if you leave CH and have a possibility of returning in that timeframe.

You might want to anonymise some of this data, as identity theft is very common, and this site is googleable.....

That is ok. I found the images in Google. It is not my personal data. It's a long time ago since I had either a B or a C permit.

It may be an old photo or they may have changed the colour in the meantime but the folder for my OH's C permit is a green colour.
