Registering at Kreisbüro 2 or 3 days after job start

Hi everyone!

I'm German and will start a new job in Zurich on July 1. Sadly, I will have to attend a funeral of a close family member in Germany on July 1, and so my boss gave me the first three days off. However, this also means that I can go to Kreisbüro for my work permit only on July 2 or 3.

An advantage of a "move in date" of July 2, say, would be that I would not have to pay for Swiss health insurance for June. (I still have my German insurance for June.)

Does anyone know if this will be OK? I know I'm supposed to go there *before* my job starts

Any comments are highly appreciated!

Best,
penz

Re: Registering at Kreisbüro 2 or 3 days after job start

You have 8 working days before you must register. Take a long look at your Gemeinde website, www.zuerich.ch

Re: Registering at Kreisbüro 2 or 3 days after job start

Apologies for my delayed response.

For people coming here through google et al., I just wanted to report back that I successfully registered at the Kreisbüro on my second day of work.

Thanks a lot, Sbrinz!

Best,
penz
