Help in Geneva for naturalization

Hello all.

I have my wonderful part time cleaner who has lived in Geneva since 15 years, who apparently is eligible for a swiss citizenship.

She speaks little french so has done some french lessons. Apparently you need level A2 of french.

She just did her exam and the examiner said she is not good enough, she should speak fluently in sentences with perfect grammar. (That is not A2 level??!!) She left the exam completely disheartened so i would like to help her as much as i can.

If anyone has any advice, know any good teachers, or even ex-examiners to give some tips, please we could use the help. She's a hard worker, a wonderfully kind person and a very good citizen. She really does deserve it.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Help in Geneva for naturalization

A2 spoken and B1 written isn't it so how's her written French skills as well.

And it's not just about language either. It's Swiss history, politics, etc. Here's a site Geneva set up for those wanting to become citizens.

Re: Help in Geneva for naturalization

Hi thanks for your reply

Here in Geneva the exams are separate. so you have a french oral exam, then you have to sit the Swiss politics/culture exam separately.

So she replied all the questions correctly on her french spoken exam but apparently she needs to have perfect grammar. which i dont think is a requirement for A2 level.
