Seven Months of Delay in Issuing a 1-Year Permit! Is There Anything I Can Do?

Does anyone know of some place where I can express my anger and frustration? (other than here, of course)

5 months and waiting and still no B permit in sight

Hello,

I was just wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation to the one that my husband and I have found ourselves in. The company which my husband works for wished to keep him on and as our L permit was going to expire, they applied for a B permit on his behalf. While I am a EU citizen, my husband is not. This happened in February (incidentally, also the month in which the L permit expired) and since then we've been waiting but our B permit has still not come through. It's been almost six months. As a non working spouse (finding a job in Switzerland has been really hard but that's another story) I've found every month after month 2 emotionally draining. It is so hard living like this, not knowing whether I am going to be here from one week to the next. Making plans for our son's education has been hard and in places like hospitals where they have wanted to see our permit alongside our insurance, we've had a lot of explaining to do. It really feels like we are being penalised. In the meantime, my husband has continued going to work, making lots of money for somebody else (ha!) but seeing very little of it in his own stead! Has anyone else experienced a similar situation?

Did you find a place to express your frustration? If so, I would love to know. We've been waiting for over five months to hear about our B permit. The saga began in February and now, in August, we are none the wiser. I'm really struggling!

Re: 5 months and waiting and still no B permit in sight

Hi,
6 months is quiet a long time. did your husband's company enquire with the immigration authorities about what is holding up his application so long? as you might have read in this forum, L to B conversion is tricky for Non EU. does your husband work for an Indian company? if yes, they should have a fair idea about what is going on? also the employer has to prove that they could not find anybody in Switzerland or EU to do the job.

i know it is hard to wait but think it this way. if it had to be rejected, they dont need 6 months for it. so i believe they are waiting for some documents from your husband's employer which is holding up your case. Normally in such cases, the employer takes the lead because it is the employer who applies for the permit (EU or Non EU) and normally knows whats going on with each case.

cheers

Re: Seven Months of Delay in Issuing a 1-Year Permit! Is There Anything I Can Do?

Hi ReshamCB,

I work with an Indian company and have been in a situation recently and it took 6 months to complete the renewal process. If your husband is deputed from an Indian company, he would need to keep in touch with the employer and they can only share the details. However, expect a delay which has been happening since 2015.

Re: Seven Months of Delay in Issuing a 1-Year Permit! Is There Anything I Can Do?

Hi
I know a friend ( indian company) whose visa process ( L to B permit) has not arrived yet. They started the processing in Dec 2014 which means 8 months so far and no news.
