Living in Germany and studying at ETH

Hi everyone,

In September Iím starting my masterís degree at ETH and currently Iím living in Freiburg, Germany.
At least for a month Iím thinking about living in Freiburg and enter Switzerland every day to attend the courses.

I would like to know:
1) if there are any legal issues by leaving and entering Switzerland every day
2) if I can find a job as a student in Zurich, since I wonít have a residence permit (ideally I would like to first find a job and then move to Zurich).

Re: Living in Germany and studying at ETH

Are you an EU or non-EU national? In any case it's quite clear that you must register as being resident in Switzerland to get your student permit no matter what your nationality. No permit, no study here. So find yourself some accommodation before your course starts.

Again, depending on your nationality you may or may not seek work immediately.

Students are only allowed to work 15 hours a week maximum during term time. And again, no resident permit means you're not allowed to work here.
