quesiton about drivers licence and sending a copy of it to me online

I'm on holiday in Greece! But I just found out I forgot my driver's licence and so can't hire a car. Whoops! I was wondering if, as far as anyone knows, it would be possible for the relevant Swiss authority to send me a scan of my licence for me to then photocopy? And if so, who is the relevant authority? I should know, I know, but re bureaucracy I just sign where asked and forget everything. Anyway, I'd appreciate a heads up from anyone.

Anyway, all the best from sunny (and windy) Santorini.

Zürich Strassenverkehrsamt, don't know if they will do it though.

ask the rental agency. I would say they won't accept it. But they might be open today and tomorrow....

Not sure if this is still possible, but when I forgot my driver's licence - I was able to phone the DVLA in the UK (when I still lived in the UK) and they faxed a copy against a fee, can't remember how much.

DVLA will now give a confirmation online free of charge. You can also give a code no, so your license can be checked by someone else. The code lasts 21 days.
