Hi my 20 year old daughter is applying for swiss citizenship. She has to have a police interview soon followed by one with the commune. Has anyone been through this and what sort of questions will they ask. We are in Vaud on the Riviera
thanks

I do not remember all the questions in detail but here are some of them:

Why do you want to become Suisse?
Describe your family situation.
How often do you go back to your home country and why?
Describe Suisse political system.
Capital of canton.
Name any members of the communal authorities?
Highest mountain of Switzerland. Mountains in Bern region.
Name 3 castles
Local food specialities and wine domains.
Name grapes used for white wine.
Do you plan to stay in Switzerland afterwards.

that's very much it...

Re: Naturalisation,police interview

I'd be quite suprised if the Policemen or women would ask these questions.
Maybe the jury would??

Re: Naturalisation,police interview

It probably differs from canton to canton, but at our police interview, they first wanted the names and addresses of all our immediate family. I presume they wanted to be sure we weren't applying for naturalisation in order to bring our families over. The second part was a 10 question quiz on Swiss geography, politics etc, where we were questioned separately; I got 9/10, my wife 10/10 . They weren't interested in motivations etc; that came at the commune and canton interviews.

Re: Naturalisation,police interview

They didn't ask me anything, we just chit-chatted, mainly about our asshole neighbour (the cop doing the interview lived in the next building).
