Migrations amt strange request

Hello all, as I found this forum very useful for almost anything, I must ask for favor anyone who had similar experience or know something about this.

I am non EU with C permit, with job, apartment... All good there. As I'm recently married (my wife is a non EU also) I applied for family reunification visa for her. Migration office ask for some papers (My jib contract, betreibungs...), I send them, and today I recive letter from migration office that I must prove that my wife and I have no kids under age of 15.( We have not) I already check in my country of origin and there is no such document to prove this. I try to call migration office 50 times but no one answers, now I send them email but with out reply.

My question is, can I write or type on paper something like statement and sign it, or that must be official dicument?

Thanx alot, any help would be appreciated.

Janko

Hello. Is it possible that presenting a copy of taxes or another similar type record can be used to show records of your family's members that may already be listed on a document?

Re: Migrations amt strange request

Hello thanx but think that's not possible, maybe for myself because I live here 10+ yrs, but my wife just came and they ask us to prove that we (me+her) or she (from previous marriages) have not kids. We obviously haven't, she also haven't but confused how to prove that.

One thing that cross my mind is that they ask for that to prevent bringing someone else later to this country.
If so, I think my signed statement will be enough, but really would like to know this from 1st hand.

AFAIK you need to provide a personal letter stating you and your spouse have no kids which needs to be notarized. You can check www.notariate.zh.ch for offices close to your residence. I think they already have template for this. Just give them a call/visit.

Look at this page http://www.notariate.zh.ch/not_eid.php

You can probably do something similar at your embassy, I know they do a similar thing if you need to prove you're single.

Re: Migrations amt strange request

Try with a letter and see the reaction, if they refuse the letter they will have to say why and what piece of paper they require.

Can't see why it needs to be notarised, either you have kids or not, the notary will only confirm your signature which the commune sees on your permit anyway.

If you do happen to be lying, which for one moment i don't think you are, but if you did have kids and try to bring them in, they'll just cancel all your permits and kick you out.

Re: Migrations amt strange request

I have just went through the process same as you last month. I wrote a letter and state that I have no children and my wife has no children - sign my name. and handed it to Migrationsamt office. THEY ACCEPTED. My wife got her visa last week.
Good luck then.

Re: Migrations amt strange request

Just to share my experience, maybe someone in future gonna need it. As for the statement that me/my wife have no kids I went to gemeinde and take some template fill the forms and pay 100chf for it ( gemeinde in Affoltern am Albis) don't know if somewhere is cheaper or not ( They wouldn't accept if you typed by yourself, must be official template) Then I sent that paper to migration office in ZH and after 2 weeks they confirmed everything is ok, and now we're in process to get her permit. Thanx again everyone who replied to this post.

May I ask you a question please?
