These may help:

https://www.bj.admin.ch/bj/it/home/g...d/faq/ehe.html

Best thing to do is get your girlfriend to contact the civil register office in Basel to find out what you/she needs to do/provide in the way of documentation.

Depending on the citizenship and Swiss residence status of your girlfriend, you may or may not be allowed to live in Switzerland. See this link for more information:

Most probably, it will not be a permit like L, B

but a Visum on your passport, because of non EU status

Re: Need info About Marriage

@hassan298
if I remember correctly from your other threads, your partner is not Swiss, but EU, and has a permit to be in Switzerland.

The same advice still stands:
Your partner should go to the municipality or city authority or immigration office (whatever it is called in the Swiss town in which she now lives) and ask there what SHE would have to do, and which papers they would require HER to submit, if she wants to marry you and get permission for her to live with you. It is very likely that she will be required to demonstrate that she can fully provide for you (= support you) financially. If she is required to declare that (with her employment contract, and her bank statements, etc.), then she will also have to really be the one to cover your costs. It is possible that you may be permitted to live with her in Switzerland, but will not be permitted to work in Switzerland.

Of course I do not know this for sure. The point here is: the quickest way for you to know this information is for YOUR PARTNER to go to the authority which issued HER permit and ask there.

You were given this same advice months ago... I wonder where the gap is. Are we not explaining it to you clearly? Or has your partner already made the enquiries and received no answer? Or does she not understand the answers given to her by the authorities? Or do you not understand what she has told you? Or has she not yet made those enquiries?

It seems to me that if anyone on this Forum could help you, it would most likely be if you tell us eactly which part the information is still unclear for you. Then maybe we can explain it better.

Re: Need info About Marriage

As you have Italian asylum papers this is not going to be a quick or easy process. The authorities will want to check that this isn't just a sham marriage to get you a residence permit to live/work here. They will be looking for a long term, committed relationship that's been in existence for several years, not a few months. From Mullhollander's link:

"Following the provisions of the new law on foreign nationals, requests for a marriage license for a union between an asylum seeker on the one hand and a Swiss national, European Union national or a foreigner holding a C (settlement) permit on the other hand are now examined in depth. The registry office may take several months to carry out these checks."

And I sincerely hope you haven't been in Switzerland since you posted this back in February.

how to get a work permit (any kind)

It's down to your girlfriend to find out what she needs to do from the Basel civil register office and then she can tell you what documents you will have to provide.

Re: Need info About Marriage

Again you're not allowed to be in any other country besides Italy for more than 3 months at a time - Poland included! If you get caught it could put the whole marriage thing in jeopardy.

Get your girlfriend to call or visit the civil register office in Basel.

Zivilstandsamt (Civil Registrar's Office)
At: Rittergasse 11, 4010 Basel
Tel: 061 267 95 90
Fax: 061 267 67 49

Re: Need info About Marriage

I think it would be best to contact the concerned authorities. My friend who is also Australian got married 2 weeks ago to a Swiss French guy and she had to make sure that she had a legal status in Switzerland to get married to him here.

She consequently took up an internship so that the company would apply for one for her.
If you are getting married outside Switzerland that is another matter.
