Laura Wilson: Most nations treat their diaspora as a national treasure, the US treats theirs like rubbish. They are thought of as nothing more than eternal tax slaves costing the US nothing in return. The US goes so far as to render the tax deferred accounts of US disabled children abroad useless, taxing them annually. They even tax the monies contributed by their home nation. This is nothing other than theft and disgusting, hurting the most vulnerable amongst us.
