in what form will i get my visa permit

I am a wife of a German national who recently moved to Switzerland from his job. I am non European and currently working in Germany. I plan to move to Zurich in few months to join him. I heard that i can straight away go to the bundesamt here and get a visa on behalf of my husband.

I have two questions for people who had similar case like mine.

1) Will i be able to work on my visa without any limitations.
2) Will my new visa will be a stamp in my passport or will i get a Visa Card like my husband?

He has a B permit Card.

Thanks!

Re: in what form will i get my visa permit

As the spouse of an EU citizen legally working and residing in Switzerland, you will be eligible to work in Switzerland. Your residence permit will be a separate document from your passport and should look the same as your spouse's:

"Regardless of the nationality of the family member, he/she will receive an EU/EFTA residence permit (even if the person is a third-state national). This permit will have the same period of validity as your own residence permit. Family members may take up employment but must register with the cantonal immigration and labour market authorities."

Re: in what form will i get my visa permit

To be clear, the visa you will apply for is a Type D visa for family reunification. This will be stamped in your passport, and it allows you to enter for the purpose of staying in Switzerland long-term (as opposed to a short-term tourist visa).

Once you are here, you will register with the local authorities and apply for a residence permit. This doubles as your authorization to work. After you have the residence permit, you can enter and exit the country as you wish and the D-visa is no longer relevant.

Hope that helps.

I do not need a visa to enter Switzerland. I am already living and working in Germany and i have a German resident permit which is valid for all schenegen countries. Switzerland being one of them. So at present i can currently enter and leave the Switzerland when i want.

I would check on that on that if I were you. Yes, you can enter as a tourist for up to 3 months, but for longer you still need a Type D visa to enter long term legally.

I am a citizen of a non-EU/EFTA state in possession of an unlimited residence permit valid for an EU/EFTA state. Do I need visa to work in Switzerland?
Whether or not you possess a residence permit valid for an EU/EFTA state does not affect your status in Switzerland. You are subject to the same provisions on entry and work as people who enter Switzerland from a third state. As a rule, you will need to apply for an entry visa, which will be issued by the Swiss diplomatic representation abroad as soon as you have been granted a work permit.
