Hey guys,
I am an Australian Citizen planning to move to Switzerland next year to travel, hopefully study and maybe work. I have been reading about Visa's on all the Swiss Government websites for the past week or so and have found everything to be quite ridgid and baffling!
Firstly, I read that you can only obtain a working visa in Switzerland if you are a professional. I also read that on a student visa you need to be in possession of adequate funds to support yourself for the length of your studies. The website said that the amount considered sufficient was 100CHF per day.
I was hoping to fly into the country next July, travel around a little bit.. maybe study some french.. find a place to live.. and settle down before I start studying at a university.. at this point it might be cool to do a little bit of part time work also. I definately want to stay in Switzerland and Europe for a year or maybe two.
But is it a pipe dream? Will the Swiss government let me do it?
What would be the best way to go about doing this?
