Non-EU L Permit and Taxation

Hi All,I have a Non EU 'L' permit and i work for an IT company who is providing services to a bank. I am here to work for a duration of around one year. I receive my salary from my employer in my home country but its transferred to my bank account here in switzerland. Can anyone please provide me some information that what kind of taxation is appicable for me and from where can i get more information about this.I would really appreciate any responce or help in this.Regards,Masood

you really should be taxed at source - do you pay any deductions (social and tax?)

what do you mean by taxed at source?I pay all the taxes in my home country but that's is for my basic salary. Once i am here, i get sme extra salary as well but not paying any social or tax. The only thing i am paying for is the health insurance.

Re: Non-EU L Permit and Taxation

If you're going to be here for more than 6 months, then you will be considered tax resident in switzerland and "in the system".

If your employer does not have a representation in this country You will be a NOBAG, or employee without compulsory deductions as you cannot be taxed at source. That does not mean you are not liable for them, and you will receive a hefty bill for your SVA etc at the end of the year and the tax on your income.

I'd take advice if I were you...

I fully concur with this. I strongly suggest you speak to the Gemeinde about your tax liability AND your social contributions requirements. You are talking here about some 30% of your salary you will be hit with and I guess that you are already paying 30%+ in tax and deductions anyway and you are being underpaid. Frustrates the hell out of me...
