from 10 years B permit to an L one

Hi there,
I am italian and I live since more than 10 years in Basel. I always had a B permit but recently I got an L permit.
I called up the HR that organized the renewal and she told me that the reason why I have now an L permit is because my contract at work was renewed only for 6 months.
she told me that this change has no implications and as soon as I get a permanent position I will get again a B permit.

I am somehow worried that this might be some implications and I am wondering what will happen if next year I wont have a job....

some people told me that it is strange that I got a L permit and I should protest to get back my B permit.

I have no idea what to do next..
any help- advice?
thanks
Sally

Re: from 10 years B permit to an L one

The HR in the company you work for seems to be just as *no words* as the one in my company. I stopped asking them to do things (that are actually in their job desc) for me about 6 months after I arrived in CH.
Your friend is right, you should deal with the authorities personally, at least if you speak German.
