ID Requirements Austria to Switzerland Travel

Hi All,

Does anyone know the ID requirements for a German national (living in switzerland) wanting to travel to Austria and back.

At the moment both her passport and Ausweiss B are being renewed. Can one cross this border (as a German citizen) with only Swiss Drivers Licence? Travel would be by air (so no way to take the risk of no car control).

Thanks for any info or links!

Andrew

The answer is NO.
Travel is only possible with two documents, passport OR national ID card.
Drivers license will not work.

Re: ID Requirements Austria to Switzerland Travel

Ausländerausweis (furner ID card) and Führerschein (driving license) are not acceptable for travel, especially by air.

I am sure she has a Personalausweis (ID card) though, which will work fine.
