Dependent Visa Stamping

Hi Folks,

I am in Suisse since 6 months or so on a L permit. My wife is joining me soon (once she gets dependent visa stamped on her passport).

I have just received dependent authorization from my wife.

Now I have to apply for visa stamping with Swiss Embassy in Mumbai, India.

So the question is as follows: Is legalization of marriage certificate required while dependent visa stamping if one already has dependent authorization?

Thanks in advance
Hasli

Re: Dependent Visa Stamping

No. Just a visa form, copy of the passport, copy of the authorization, and the fees.

This is from the Embassy website :

"In the event where the authorisation is already available, the applicant would have to submit only one form along with the copy of the authorisation, passport copy and the prevailing visa fees."

Re: Dependent Visa Stamping

Hi Hasli,

Could you let me know when did you start processing your wife's dependant VISA?

as I hear from migration officials that people having L-permit are not entitled to bring their family that is the new rule from Jan'08. I would like to bring my wife I am not sure which permit I will be getting.

And if you dont mind can you let me know when did you arrive in switzerland 2007 / 2008?

Thanks in advance
Bala

Re: Dependent Visa Stamping

Hi sbkrishnan,

I am not sure if this is correct. I have been here since last two years on L permit and applied for dependent visa in jan 2008 and got it with in 2 months.

My family left switzerland for 6 month and recently got authorisation from cantonal authorities

BTW I Live in st gallen canton.

Also there are many other on this forum with L permit who were granted dependent permits.

Not sure if for zurich this is diffrent though.

Regards
IG
