UK citizen student permits and longterm options for future in Switzerland
Hi,
I've been reading through the old threads but I can't seem to find much to answer my questions. I'm a UK student about to start studying at the EHL in September for 2 years and staying on a tourist visa in the meanwhile. I would like to apply for my permis de séjour now (mainly because I would like to get a phone contract - which you apparently need a permit to do) but I'm unsure of what to do.
I don't know what permit to apply for and if there is even an option. My boyfriend is a C-permit holder currently going through naturalisation and if all goes well I would like to stay in Switzerland with him after the course. Is there a permit I can get as a student that would count towards the years I'd have to spend in Switzerland before I can apply for citizenship? And does anyone know what permit (student or maybe work) I would get as an EHL student as we have to do stages as part of the course?

I would suggest that you contact EHL and ask them. They have students from over 90 countries (Overview) and surely know everything about permits for foreign students.

I have contacted them but they can take a very long time to reply and they seem quite keen on everyone registering the 1st day in September. I have a lettre d'attestation so in theory I should be able to go to the authorities already... shouldn't I?
