The situation is that: I am a non-european and have worked in Canton Zurich for nearly 3 years (50% during the first year).

I have a work permit from Amt fuer Wirtschaft und Arbeit (Economics & Labour Office) all along these 3 years. While, the work permit I held before has a 2-year limitation (which seems that I have to apply a new one after this duration if I still want to work in Switzerland). But this year, the company help me get a new work permit without the time restriction. On the paper, there is the name of my employer but just can see where I work.

My concern is that whether I am allowed to change an employer with this work permission. Because on my Auslaenderausweis B (resident permit B) there is always a name of my employer.

If anybody is still not sure about the question, please do not hesitate to tell me. Thanks a million times!

You can change employer. The new employer still has to do a work permit application but there is no need to go through the hoops as previously. The new employer will be put on your permit in place of the old employer.

then the problem is that whether that is neccesary to change the residetial permit once I change the living place or employer. If it happens in one year I have to go to the Gemeinde at least 3 times during the year. You know the fee is not so cheap and it's a time comsuming as well......

i think this is a practical question and there might be more than one answer for that......
