permit B-health insuracne-bank account

Hi my husband and I are british, and have moved to valais as he has a job with a big company. it is a permanent position. We are supposed to visit the town to registed for our B permits next week. They want to see medical insurance, but we've not had time to sort any out (we've only been here ten days). We tried to sort out a bank account, but they want to see a permit before he can get paid. But how are we supposed to pay for medical insurance without a bank account?! do we just put it on our british credit card? i'm not happy doing this. Any advice would be great!

Re: permit B-health insuracne-bank account

I opened my bank account in the Credit Suisse, and just after, 2 or three days after, I did my health insurance using the comparis.ch.
No problem in the CS to open the bank account without HI.
Good luck.

Re: permit B-health insuracne-bank account

You should be able to get your B-permit without the health insurance. You have three months from the date of your arrival to arrange insurance but are supposed to register at your town within 10 days of arrival! However, you can also get health insurance without a bank account-as long as you have a billing address, the insurance company will send you bills that you can pay your at the post office.

Hope this helps, and welcome to Switzerland!
