Some info about-UK visa for South Africans

As you know us Saffa's have to get visa's for the UK as of 3 March09.

Here's some info that I hope will help anyone with questions.

Dear Applicant,

Thank you for contacting WorldBridge Service, UK Border Agency Commercial Partner. We appreciate your patience regarding the response to your enquiry as WorldBridge strives to provide the most accurate responses to all enquiries. Below you will find the response to that enquiry.

As you have the South African nationality you have to apply for a visa. However, until mid-2009, South African nationals who have previously traveled to the UK on their current passeport will be exempt from the visa enquirement.

It is the applicant’s decision as to which category of entry clearance he or she would like to apply for. Kindly visit www.visainfoservices.com for information on the full range of entry clearances offered by the United Kingdom and make your selection.
You may obtain and fill out applications online at:
http://www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk/ApplyNow.aspx.
To make the appointment, go to the WorldBridge public website at http://www.visainfoservices.com and select the country you are applying from than please select “Make an appointment at the Visa Application Centre” from the navigation bar on the left and follow the instructions.

Regardless of visa type, you must submit:
· A passport or travel document valid at least for 6 more months and has at least one empty page where to put the visa
· Two recent passport-sized (45mm x 35mm), colour photograph of yourself:
o taken against a light coloured background
o clear and of good quality, and not framed or backed
o printed on normal photographic paper, and
o full face and without sunglasses, hat or other head covering unless you wear this for cultural or religious reasons.
· The visa fee. This cannot be refunded, and you must normally pay it in the local currency of the country where you are applying.
· The correct Visa Application Form
· Supporting documents relevant to your application.
For more information on the supporting documents requested for your visa type, please visit www.visainfoservices.com and click on the Do I Need a Visa or the Visa Application Procedures link in the upper left corner.
Applicants applying for UK visas are advised to apply for their visas 2-3 weeks in advance of their anticipated date of travel. The British Embassy in Switzerland aims to process all applications within 10-15 working days following the appointment at the VAC. However, the process can take longer, and after submitting your application you may be requested to schedule an interview with the Embassy once your application has been reviewed. Please bear this in mind when making travel arrangements to the UK.

In Switzerland there are two Visa Application Centre (VAC)in Geneva and in Zurich.

You can always book your appointment on the www.visainfoservices.com website by choosing the 'Make an Appointment at the Visa Application Centre' link. Once there, you will be prompted to enter your details and you will be able to schedule the appointment at the time and date of your convenience.

Please allow enough time to make your application before travelling, although not more than 3 months before travelling.

Please note that you will not be able to respond to this email. If you have additional questions submit a new enquiry via email free of charge by visiting the WorldBridge website at www.worldbridgeservice.com.

When submitting a new enquiry, please reference the case number from this particular email to ensure thorough processing. Note the case number can be found in the subject line of this email,
Thank you again for contacting WorldBridge.

Very sincerely yours,

WorldBridge Service

WorldBridge Service is happy to provide you with this information. Please note, however, that the decision to issue or refuse an entry clearance is made solely by Entry Clearance Officers at the British embassy.
