Hi all

I'm a 24 year old South African citizen who's looking to relocate to Switzerland. I have a degree in Chemical Engineering (Hons) and I have been working for the national South African petrochemical company for the past 2 years. I would appreciate the forum's help with these two questions;

(a) Contacts of recruiters or companies i can contact to get a job?
(b) Whether I need to apply for a work permit myself or the company which may hire me will sponsor me?

I'm looking to move to Switzerland by june, is this wishful thinking? I would really appreciate some help on this.

Unless you're bringing in tonnes of dosh, it would be better for you to find a company that will apply for a work permit for you. Most of us poor people have permits that are tied to our jobs.

If you're rich and wanting to relocate your business, then there would be other avenues to try.

Thanx for getting back. Unfortunately I am not that monied up I'm looking to move over because I'm interested in branching out in the chemical engineering industry. I also was there for the christmas holidays and i just loved it.So i'll keep on hunting for that special job.

You may want to have a look at Dow, they have their European HQ in Horgen (just outside Zurich), my brother works for them.

If yu give me some more detail on qualifications etc, I can pass it his way & see if he knows of any openings.
