I have started working in Baden since 2 weeks and I am living in Wettingen now. My employer could get the work permit (non-EU) for 2 years. And with the Ermächtigung they gave me, I went to Gemeinde in Wettingen for registration. How long does it take normally to get the Ausländerausweis? they told me that I would get a letter from them but it has been one week I haven't heard anything. is it just normal or should I go to the gemeinde one more time to ask about the case? I have read that some people have waited for 2 months in order to get the ausweis, does it depend on the kanton you live or what?

Yes I have it. It is this "Ermächtigung zum Visumerteilung", isn't it?

as long as you have the letter, they will let you work.
