Confused - Please Help!

Hi there,

I am new to this forum and need some help!

My boyfriend is British and resides in Zug and holds a B permit. He owns a company there and well as property

I am a Zimbabwean, who is a South African resident and currently living in Cape Town. I hold a Zimbabwean passport.

We would like to get married next year in Switzerland and I would like to live there with him once we are married. I have done research on on this and there seems to be conflicting information available.

I wouldl like to firstly find out how we go about getting married in Swizterland? From what I have read online it says that you cannot get married on tourist visa and that you need to register the intent to get married with the authorities. What visa do I need to apply for in order to come to Switzerland and have a civil wedding there?

Once we are married, am I able to live there with my spouse as his dependant? As he is an EU citizen, do I qualify to work or not?

I am very confused and anxious at the moment and really need to know if I will be able to come and live with him in Switzerland once we are married, so any advice would be appreciated.

Hi Naddia77, have you considered getting married in South Africa instead of here in Switzerland?

Maybe you can find some answers here

Did you check with Swiss Embassy in South Africa? They might be able to help you.
