Changing a dependant permit to a Work Permit

Hi All,
I am working in Zurich for the past 3 years and my husband came with a dependent permit.
He also started working this year.
His employer had enquired with the corresponding cantonal authorities and they told that the dependant of a B Permit holder is eligible to work.
So they didnt change his permit until now(May be still in dependent status, we dont know).

Now, our permits needs to get renewed in November.
Could you please let us know the process.

a) If I renew my permit, whether my husbands permit also will get renewed?

b) If I change my employer or if I decide to work in another country for some time, will that affect my husbands employment as well or is it independent of my work permit?

Thanks for your advice

Minerva

Re: Changing a dependant permit to a Work Permit

In B-Dependant, your husband can work until he has the valid permit.

And the dependant is attached with yours as a primary, In case of renewal...both needs to be renewed.

If your husband needs to stay back, he should own a valid resident+work permit. For this, he can seek the advise from his employer or can check for options with OCP.

Actually he can work for as long as he pleases, as the permit switches to a work permit in its own right.

Not anymore if the dependant is employed.

I think (but not sure) dependent B permit is not attached with the work permit.
My wife has dependent B permit but with different issue and expiry dates, also it was issued before mine was renewed.

If your wife doesn't work, her right to residence arises from you holding a work/residence permit, so if you quit working her permit expires regardless fo the issue / expiry dates.

Hi,

Hi,

Can someone please clarify if this is true if primary and dependant both happened to be NON-EU passport holders ? Dependant from Non-EU countries can work on a dependant B permit without any restrictions ?

and also on any type of B permit (restricted or unrestricted) ?

thanks in advance.

Re: Changing a dependant permit to a Work Permit

When you renew your permit at your Gemeinde you will actually renew both yours and your husbands.

I do not think your husband can renew his permit independently of yours. I believe his can only be renewed with yours when you bring the proper form signed by your employer etc...

Re: Changing a dependant permit to a Work Permit

Your asking a question that I don't see but to your question I do see the answer is no. There are quota restrictions that still apply but the permit makes no difference as long as it is B or C for that matter.
