Ability to work after registering for non-EU B visa

Hi Everyone,

Another question. As per my previous post, I'm a US citizen that recently registered at the gemeindehaus for family reunification visa; my wife is EU with a 5 year B visa, I'm expecting the same.

As I wait for my visa to arrive, Can my employer hire me to work during this wait period?

The gemeindehaus told me that the employer has to notify immigration but was not clear on the details or how the process works.

My wife who is on EU-B visa was allowed to work before her visa arrived in the mail. Would this apply for me as well?

has anyone been through this? I do have in my possession the document stating that i've registered at the gemeindehaus.

Thanks!
