Hello, I have been in Switzerland for almost 2 years. I am a US citizen who came here and was issued 2 one year L permits. I had a 2 year contract that runs out in early January. My company has decided they want me to stay with them on an open contract and undertake a new position. (partially related to the old one) The HR manager is not quite familiar with how the process will go and I said I would enquire?

-What are the chances that I will be granted a new B permit?

-Is there anything we can do to help the cause?

-If if it for some reason denied, do I have a right of appeal?

I should mention that this position had to be filled internally because there is a hiring freeze across the entire corporation.

Any and all help would be appreciated. I have searched for this but of course everyone has different cases and I just want to see what might apply to mine.
