Permit in process

Hello All English Forum Members

I just wanted to start this thread to get some opinions/experiences.

My Employer has applied for B permit. I am in process of converting L-B now. My L permit expired already. I was told by HR that till it is in process we can stay.

--Do we need to do any additional things during this time once permit is expired.
--I was told I shouldnot go out of country but if there is emergency what is the process to be followed.
--I dont have any document from immigration people. Do we need to ask for any document which says that application is in process at Kreisburo/immigration.
--Just in case if due to quota reductions permit is not approved.(hope it doesnt happen ) Is it option to ask for tourist visa for a month or two so that we can settle things

No you dont need to anything other than wait. I assume you would have already applied for your residence permit extension with your local Kreisburo?

This has been answered a lot of time in other threads. But again, you have to go to the Migrationsamt of your Kanton to get a re-entry visa!

If you want it you can get it for a fee from the local Kreisburo and if you are smart enough and can speak a little bit of German you can get it for free!

Yeah, wish you luck. It would be nice if you would update this thread latter once you get the permit. There has been lot of rejections off late and it would be nice to read some positive new I guess when they reject your permit application, they will also specify a certain time frame before which you will have to leave the country. But am not sure of this. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable can answer this for both of us.
