Marrying my Swiss GF in order to obtain work rights for Construction Jobs In Zurich

Hi Everyone,
I am a 21 year old male currently living in Vancouver B.C, Canada. I am planning on moving in with my girlfriend who lives in Switzerland. I am doing a marketing program online, so I don't really qualify for any major Job. All I am looking for is a Contruction job in Zurich. I heard that it might be a little bit harder for me to get a job there since I am a foreigner, so i was considering marrying my girlfriend to make it much easier. It would be great if i could help get detailed step by step procedures of how to get a construction job in Zurich, and how to become a Swiss Citizen through marriage. I am Planning on Moviing there in August of this year, 2010.

I would also like to know everyone's views of wethere it is more benificial to be a Swiss citizen or Canadian Citizen.

Thank you.

Re: Constrution Jobs In Zurich.

Welcome to the English Forum !! Marrying your swiss girlfriend will definitely make things easier for you in Switzerland, but I think that you should live together first and marry later when you know that it's going to work out well .

Good luck !

Re: Marrying my Swiss GF in order to obtain work rights for Construction Jobs In Zuri

Welcome to the forum.

Your public profile does not state which local languages you are able to speak eg FR, IT or DE which is important as is the formal permission to work for non-EU ( as the case is for Canadians ).

All the best for your plans.

Going on local experience you'll need to speak Italian to get any sort of non-skilled construction job . For a skilled job you'll need to have served an apprenticeship.

Schein-Ehe is never a good thing and you will be caught. Only merry her if you really love her and want to be with her for the rest of your life.

PS. Finding work here is not easy now either, I have been looking for two months and I am a swiss citizen coming back from the US.

Good Luck
