Swiss red tape or something more sinister

Right, got laid off and took papers in to Gemeinde for permit renewal.
Included letter from RAV etc.
Now migration comes back and asks why do you not work for XXXXXXXXXX anymore, are you eligible for unemployment benefits( the letter from the RAV might give them a clue) etc. Is this a case of one cheek not telling the other cheek what it's doing? I have my visa for the UK, but need some leeway time in Switzerland also

Re: Swiss red tape or something more sinister

I'd always assumed that there was a big central system that all the authorities bought into. It looks like this doesn't exist even at the Kanton level .
