16 applications of L to B permit submitted by Infosys (Indian company) for their employees to work for Novartis in Basel was rejected last month, where as L to L and B to B is working fine as of now.
Good luck to you.

It happened to my employer as well and a nice guy from Vietnam was sent home - after two years of living here, paying tax and having a baby only a few weeks old.
But I would doubt that the "nationality" of a company plays a large role: My employer is very Swiss and owned by some people I would call "influential" in Bern. Still happened here as well.
My wife's employer had some applications for new permits rejected as well - while paying way above average for some IT specialists. So it does not seem to be a matter of the nationality of a company or the salary level...

Ragku | | | | | Unfortunately this is probably the worst situation to be in - it appears that, currently, the Swiss authorities favour L to B conversions where the employee is employed at the place where the work is done.

Not that I would not believe it, but I am interested in the topic and from my experience was up to now the opposite true: What pissed me off was not any form of discrimination, but basically the opposite: From the cases I personally know I can only come to the conclusion that there is no filtering involved at all: no matter of your social situation or income (tax): The quotas seem to be dished out simply on a "first come - first served" basis.
I personally believe that it would be better to take "the victims" overall situation into account, but for the OP that would look equally bad. So: I suggest you to look what happens with your permit, you might get through with another L for example. Since the situation is a s it is, I would recommend to have at least a basic plan b for the case your request is rejected.

Hey, I have heard of 3 positive cases of L to B conversion in the last one week. All of them were Indians working for different Swiss companies through IT Service Provider Company.
All the best to others who are waiting to hear back from the authorities. | | The following 4 users would like to thank sssuhsin for this useful post:

My reply may not be positive but unfortunately we are the latest victim of the L-B rejections... Time to pack up!!
So far I have not heard of any approvals even after the mid-year quota opened up (when it comes my husband's employer), but as another poster said, it is mainy L to B conversions that are getting denied and there seems no issue with new L, B..
Good luck to all those with fingers crossed!

I tried searching the forum for an answer, but didn't come across one, so here goes: Does anyone have an idea of how long (approximately) it takes to complete an L to B conversion? I'm a non-EU individual who works for a Swiss company and my company is about to file for a conversion, so any idea on the timeline would be helpful in figuring out how and when to move all my stuff over from the U.S.

My husband's colleague got his L to B conversion in 8 days and we recently got ours only after a month. Happy days.
