I am an EU national and thinking of moving to Vaud, Switzerland.

There is a small Swiss company that is willing to offer me a contract for 4000 Francs/month.

Will I be able to get the CE permit in Vaud?

Hello Albert, you need to introduce yourself and take a long look around the Forum, all the answers have been typed at least once here already.

Without any more information our answers will be equally as vague.

If the position is for director of a bank, then the answer is probably no as it would be considered as dumping. If it is to work on a building site as unskilled labour, it should be sufficient for a permit to be issued.

I did do a search but couldn't come up with specific information about salary requirements for a CE permit in Vaud.

Basically, it would be a consultant position for IT project management services. The salary offer is low as it is a small startup company in Ticino. I can afford the low salary as I am able to stay in a friend's house for no cost rent.

And if I get rejected, will this have a negative record for future applications?

Reason is, as the startup signs up customers, the salary will increase accordingly.

Isn't a CE permit a C permit for EU citizens? If so, then you can't get it until you've been here for 5 years. When you arrive you'll get a 5-year B permit (assuming you're an EU citizen)

I have read that the B permit for EU citizens is now the CE permit.

It's a B permit of type CE valid for 5 years. It is quite distinct from a C permit.

So it's the plain old EU B permit? In which case all you need is a contract. The authorities tend to be rather reticent about how much is deemed to be enough to live on, but 3500-4000/month seems to be the working figure

So I spoke with the canton de Vaud and it seems like there is no minimum salary requirement in the job contract to get approved for a residence permit. Is anyone able to confirm this? I want to be 100% sure before I accept the job offer.....

Sounds about right; if you are EU all you need is a contact for a permanent job AIUI. The minimum salary thing kicks in if you are e.g. retired or self-employed in which cases you have to demonstrate that you can support yourself financially and will not need to claim benefits. If you are happy living on the salary you are being offered, there should be no reason not to accept it from a permit POV. But IANAL and you've already spoken to the people at the coal face so only you can make the decision

Yes, it's just that it seems each case is different and the laws on this are changing. I just wanted to be sure and I know from past experience that the people working in offices don't always know the facts 100%.
