Wedding with non EU. Personnal goods importation: 18.44 or 18.45 process?

Hi all,

Brief summary: I'm french with B permit living in Switzerland. My girlfriend is Canadian citizen and we are just waiting for wedding preparation closure to hopefully get her Visa to come over (we have been total 6 months in the process so far!) and then get married to finally be together...

Practical question:

How could she clear customs for importation of her personnal goods when coming over?

1/ Is it the process of importation with tax waiving taking residence in Switzerland (custom form 18.44)? Then, how to fullfil the requirement of proof of apartment lease contract ? Would my letter given to immigration that I'll support her along with a copy of the contract in my name fit this requirement ?
2/Is it the process of 'trousseau de mariage' (importing tax free following wedding)? Sounds tricky as we won't be married yet. Would letter of intent and future wedding papers delivered by authorities be OK?

3/ other...

Thanks for your inputs!
R.

Yes, I know someone who did just that.

Not sure, haven't dealt with that - but why not wait until after the wedding to import the stuff?

Thanks Swissbob, so option 1 might work. Option 2 waiting for the wedding to be effective might generate some issues in term of timing for shipment as she won't be there anymore (unless we use a company that will handle temporary storage before it is sent over).

Most shipping companies store your stuff until the container, plane, or ship are full .
