From the BLV website:
http://www.blv.admin.ch/themen/tiers...x.html?lang=fr

Click on the link "Formation spécifique reconnue, indépendante de la profession (FSIP) pour l’élevage l’élevage professionnel des chiens"
tp bring up list of organizations certified to teach the FBA. One of them is in St Legier, and and their courses are taught in French:
www.centrecanin.ch

Write to them, ask if they offer what you need.

Alternatively, write to the Schweizerischer Verband für Bildung in Tierpflege SVBT, the umbrella organization in German-speaking Switzerland. Ask them who teaches the FBA courses in French or Italian. I'm sure they will know.http://www.tierpfleger.ch/kontakt/

(What are you planning on doing with the FBA, if I might ask? )

By the way, FBA is the correct abbreviation in German. I need to go back and edit out the BFA bits...

Good luck!

(Edited to change the BLV links to French... You could switch to Italian as well if you wish.)
This is an old threat but someone wrote me privately and told me about a ONLINE SCHOOL giving the classes in English...not sure it the school is officially accepted in Zurich but I lost the email. Wanted to post it here for everyone. So if that person is reading, please share with everyone that link you've sent me. Thank you.

Re: Tierpfleger-Light Course? [Animal carer with a degree]

Was this for the FBA, Candy?

The list of accepted FBA training institiutions (that is, the course/certificate one needs to run a facility caring for up to 19 dogs) is here:

Yes Dear.
But someone send me a link with a online school running these classes in English. I was busy dealing with a family matter and did not pay much attention and deleted it by mistake and cannot find it. Not sure it is approved or not. Just wanted to share it with everyone else here. I could be nice if it was possible to have these courses in English.

Re: Tierpfleger-Light Course? [Animal carer with a degree]

If you could track this down it would be good, Candy.

Whether or not a course is officially recognized should be clarified.

It's one thing if one is taking courses or seminars solely for one's own interest (which I do, mostly outside Switzerland), but something completely different if one's goal is to take a course to gain certification in order to reach legally mandated requirements.

(There is an online SKN Theory course now approved - but only the SKN Theory, obviously not the SKN Practical. But the FBA is typically a 40 hour course, with a 3 month Praktikum.)

Re: Tierpfleger-Light Course? [Animal carer with a degree]

I am afraid I delete it. I searched and searched my old emails and my deleted ones and its gone!! So sorry but I have had a lot to deal with in the past months and almost left the country. Now slowly getting back into the game.

Perhaps this person is out there and reading this, or will get notified if he/she still subscribed to the threat and will re-post it for all of us!!!
