Based on the Pet Sitting network thread that I created some time back, I've received quite a number of PMs to meet up with some owners and their dogs for potential dog sitting swaps, and I just havent organised myself to meet half of those people.

Hence, this gave me an idea to create a monthly dog walk for those in the network, who are based in Zürich or surrounding areas near enough, to meet up.

It is open to people who are:

1. have already joined the network and havent met other canine owners
2. you just simply want a play date for your dog
3. keen on exploring new trails and exercising their dogs

Hopefully, through the walks, you'll be able to find suitable matches and swaps from the network, and extend your canine (and human!) contacts. Please can everyone indicate their interest (I am guessing weekends work best for everyone) on what time/day suits them best and we'll try to lock a monthly dog walk (location will vary depending on members suggestions) where old and even new members to the pet sitting network can join.

Also appreciate any feedback / suggestions for trails that you might have to make this idea fly.

I've been meaning to do this for the longest time and apologies for not doing so earlier - and also, my apologise to the owners based in other parts of Switzerland - maybe someone can take the lead and organise something similar from there?

I'd be happy to meet you for a walk (doggy play date) tomorrow. Anytime is fine with me if you still want to go. I live close to Schwamendingen (Zurich), but I can come to Zollikon if there's a nice trail there.

Arghhh...maybelstar, I cant believe I missed this!!! It was gorgeous weather today and it would have been great to meet up.

Hey dog lovers!!!

I would join you this weekend for play date with Nina! Let me know a time and a place! Brunaupark (Allmend park) works best for me, but I can drive elsewhere. Brunaupark has easy access with public transportation though.. With both tram and train stops right in front! Point of reference is Silhcity, it's the biggest dog park in the city, hard to miss it!!!

Wow, this sounds like a great idea! My family and I will be relocating to the Zurich area this Summer. Monthly walks would be a great way to meet other dog owners and explore the area. I'm hoping by replying to this post I'll get updates on your walks so Rufus and Rosie will be able to join you in August!

I love dogs and miss mine. I saw the cutest dog the other day,long haired dachshund with a terrier mix in there somewhere. Very cute face.

I've set it up for pet owners to exchange contacts and build a network of pet sitters who are extremely expensive here. If you fancy time with a furry friend but dont have yours here, why not join in and help take care of other owners' pets?
