Missing Shiba Inu in Zug [dog]

My dog of 8 years has been missing since Monday night. I am devastated. Of course his collar slipped off. I have reported and followed all of the rules. I have posted flyers all over. Now I just wait. He is a beautiful dog. I wonder if someone has taken him in and wants to keep him. He has a chip. I think if he was hit by a car, I would have been informed by now, right?missing-shiba-inu-zug-dog-135453_frosty.jpg

Re: Tips on How To Report a Lost or Found Pet

Oh dear, what a beauty. I send you a lot of energy to find your dog asap and in perfect condition.

Just post more information in this forum, there are people all over Switzerland and could be a good ally finding him.

Please don't think the worst. Someone in my village found a dog last night and they put flyers up in the village and in the meantime are taking care of the dog until its owner can be found. The dog has no chip. I believe there are caring individuals out there who may not know exactly what steps to follow if they find a dog.

I hope your dog will be returned home safely. There are dogs who can wander a considerable distance so please do not give up hope.

The worst part is, I am moving in a week so if he finds his way back home, I won't be here. I am still staying in Zug and will inform the next tenant to contact me if he shows up.

I saw your registration on the website.
http://www.tierdatenbank.ch/cms/tier.../vermisst.html

Given that you are moving, you might want to put this in the comments field. I noticed that many owners give a bit more detail in the comments section, for example, more specific location from where the dog wandered off, not just by Kanton, and also details such as whether the dog is castrated, wearing a collar, etc. Also, I recommend the comments be in German, if you send me a private mail I will translate for you and hopefully you can modify your listing.
Some add the chip number too.

I think that there are some websites for lost and found dogs/cats. ANyine knows if this is the case? Did you check with the canton animals' homes? (not sure if called SPCA here too).

The owner has already posted this. This thread was originally under the Tips for reporting a lost dog, a thread which I started, but I requested that the thread be split and this moved as I felt it should be on its own. A moderator agreed and it was done.

Re: Missing Shiba Inu in Zug [dog]

Americankunstlerin, I'm so sorry to hear that your doglet is missing - all fingers crossed, thumbs pressed for his safe return.

In addition to the good advice you have already been given, I'd add the suggestion that you go visit every Tierheim in the area, and every vet personally with a copy of your flyer. In my experience, wires can get crossed, information confused, descriptions might get muddled - best to check for yourself.

Also just in case you haven't done so: Robidogs are a great place to hang flyers. All dog walkers passing by will see them, and be on the alert to keep out for your dog.

You two will be in our thoughts.

Any news yet?

There is another website on which you can register your missing dog.
