Offering Exercising Horses (just for fun) - Zurich [FREE service at no cost]

Hi, I'm looking for opportunities to horse ride for pleasure, if there is anybody who has horses that might need exercise or would like company whilst riding please let me know. My girlfriend also rides too, so there are two of us who would be delighted with any opportunity! We're both very experienced and had horses of our own growing up. We live in Zurich city at the moment.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi,
Maybe you are lucky, but most horse owners request 50 - 150 Fr per month for a Reitbeteilugung, so for free might be a problem.
This is a swiss horse forum, german speaking: http://www.reitkalender.ch/
post your request in "Marktplatz für Pferdiges", if possible in german...
hope you find two nice horses
grüessli

as mentioned above, here in CH horse owners do not necessarily see this a as a service...most will ask for a small financial contribution, to cover material and horse shoe usage
you can also try www.gratis-inserate.ch or www.reitsport.ch

Thanks you all kindly for the very helpful information. It is indeed a nominal fee and sounds like it would be an amicable arrangement to have. I shall try posting some adverts up soon on these sites.

I am feeling very cynical today....so here goes.

Nothing is free in CH, especially pets and animals.
There are many "rich" people here who will buy or own exactly the same thing akin to the neighbours, and not SHARE.

Therefore it will be news to me, if you can actually find a private owner giving you their beloved horse to ride for free.

In a riding school, this could be different. A payment is usually needed.

Hope this helps.

Re: Offering Exercising Horses (just for fun) - Zurich [FREE service at no cost]

A lot of horse owners are desperatly looking for experienced riders to ride their horses.

I was looking for an opportunity to ride for free too when I was twenty (14 years ago) and I posted and ad in the PEGASUS magazine. I got more than 20 replies and of which I seriously considered 5. At the end I chose a horse I could ride for free and where I did not have to work in the stable. The only thing I had to do was to groom the horse before riding and to clean the tack every now and then.

I am positive that you'll find something.
