We're re-locating to Blonay in mid-August and bringing our 4 yr old English Cocker Spaniel. I need to find a good vet in the Blonay area who speaks English. Our dog had a hip operation last year and has recurring problems with that, so it would be great to find one that I can communicate with effectively.
Also I understand that I need to register him within 10 days of arriviing to comply with Swiss regulations....?
Any recommendations would be most gratefully received.

As for the regs, yes you will need to have him registered on the ANIS database within 10 days of arrival, a vet will need to do this. I wouldn't stress too much about the timeline, though - as this is August/ holiday season, many vets are away at this time. Just get it done as soon as you can get an appointment. You will also likely need to register your dog with the Commune; the folks there may also have further vet recommendations for you.

Thanks for your help. I didn't realise that I needed to register him with the Commune too, but I suppose that makes sense. Also they will be a good source of info about local vets. Having a vet fairly local does make it a lot easier and less stressful for us and the dog I'll cross my fingers that I can find one when I arrive.

The vets I used, when I lived in the area, were at Animalis which is on the autoroute turnoff for Chexbres, almost on the exit.
The vets, M. Perrenoud and M. Klemm, both speak very good English.

In fact it takes no time at all to get there from Blonay and you can park immediately outside their clinic.

You could try any of these. Personally I recommend the top one; an excelent vet really, who looked after our dog for the first 4 years of her life and the last two (we moved away in between).
