Of friends and associates I know I find that cat people are often control freaks and dog people more laid back
Cat owners do seem to be happier in their own company whilst dog owners seem to be more social.
And some really clever friends I have, do have cats... which is very interesting..............

I am a 100pct dog person. I think the dog/master relationship is one from mutual respect whereas a cat relationship is purely to take (on the cats side)
While we are at it. Women are like cats. When you pull them towards you they resist, when you push them away, they come closer.

| | | Re: Cat people vs dog people personalities | Quote: | | | | | | | | | | Cat owners are smarter – well, at least have more formal education. A British poll found 47% of homes with a cat had a person with a college degree, while only 38% of homes with dogs. - Nope. disagree. it just means that cat owners were out partying too much while they were in college, and opted not to get a dog.
Dog owners are more likely to vote red, as in Republican. While a third of dog owners consider themselves republican, only about a quarter of cat owners do. - Çan't say I agree or disagree.
Dog people are more extroverted & agreeable, while cat people are more neurotic yet more open-minded & creative. Cat people tend to seek out a variety of activities while dog owners’ lives tend to be more routine. - I completely disagree, and will dress up like Snoopy and sing it from the top of my lungs on Markplatz this Saturday at 10:00 just to prove it.
- As far as the routine goes for dog owners, I don't think it has to do with the species preference, so much as it is to do with the fact that dog owners have to stick to a routine for the dogs.
Dog owners that are overweight are more likely to have an overweight dog, versus cat owners who are overweight don’t seem to have any affect on their cat’s weight. - True, and readily observable.
Cat owners are likely to let pets on the bed… or anywhere the cat wants. Dog owners are likely to treat their pets to rides in the car. - that's not a logical statement. What does riding in the car have to do with getting on the bed?
- My dogs get to be on the furniture however they want (which has caused me problems when dating cat lovers), but get very few rides in the car unless it's for a purpose.... like going to Fressnapf.
Dog owners expect their pet to come help them in a time of distress. Cat owners expect to get ignored. - I don't expect anything more than a *lick lick* "Omg are you ok? I'm really jonesing for a biscuit. WAAAAAKE UP!!!!!!!"
- About ½ of cat owners think their cat watches TV – only about 1/3 of dog owners think their pet is being entertained by the television.
Now for some similarities: First of all, just owning a pet means you’re probably a woman. Doesn’t matter if it’s a dog or a cat, women are most often the primary care-giver. - (checking between legs). Nope. Not a woman.
If you own a pet (either cat or dog), you are probably married. However, if you’re single with a pet, it’s more likely you own a cat. And if you own one pet, you probably own at least another. 64% of pet households have more than one furball running around. However, cat owners are more likely to have multiple pets. - Well. I couldn't let the other one have nobody to talk to. Plus being an only child really sucks.
