Flying with Dogs anytime soon? Dog crate info

Just a bit of info for those who ever decide to export their pets from Switzerland.

I found a great website that had very competitive prices on dog crates.
It was www.zooplus.de .

I purchased 2 Vari Kennel Ultras, size 71 x 52 x 55 for 62euros. Much cheaper than the Swiss counterparts. Very helpful, items recieved in a few days for order. Would definately recommend them.

Also, stear clear of trying to get them from the UK. I tried :

www.petplanet.co.uk- Problem with arranging postage from checkout although they state that they deliver to Switzerland. Spoke to cust serv but they never bothered to help me.
www.britishdog.net - Took my order. When I called to check on the order status about 5 days later, I was told that it was out of stock (and apparently had been at the time I placed the order) and would not be in for a few weeks!! Not much help and no one had bothered to let me know.

www.qualipet.ch were way too expensive.

Choice is yours but now you have a bit more info.

I have to say, "Flying with Dogs" would be a great name for a band.

Holy Hochpreisinsel, Batman! The same crate at Meiko is CHF 172 (And the ones I need are CHF 366-524. )

Thanks for the info, Kevlegs - Zooplus, here I come.

Hope the trip went smoothly, and the doglets are happily settling into their new home.

Are you sure about that? Usually the express carriers bill you separately about 1-2 weeks after they deliver the goods. Even if no customs duties are applicable for the product in question (which is doubtful in this case), the handling charges and VAT certainly would be charged in my experience.

I think they don't bother charging you VAT for only 60 euros or so. At least it's like that with Amazon.

Re: Flying with Dogs anytime soon? Dog crate info

I've been using zooplus for ages, very good selection and prices, fast delivery. And considering that I just bought 50 kilos of petfood again, it's certainly better to get it delivered.
