Experience with the Zürcher Hundezentrum Albisgüetli?

Hello all!

We are getting a new dog as sadly, our English Bulldog Marvin passed away recently (very sad story and one which I will share when it feels right... still very painful now )

Anyway, according to the new legislation for Zürich, with an English Bulldog you have to do 4 hrs puppy class (to be done within the first 16 weeks of life) and 10 hrs young dog class (to be done within first 18 months).

All ok for us

Question is: has anyone done these at the Zürcher Hundezentrum Albisgüetli? It is very near us and at good times but wanted to get someone's experience on it!

Also, as a second question: do the 10 hrs young dog classes have to be done in a block or can I do 4 now and 6 later for example? Do I have to do them all in the same place?

Thanks for any advice/experience sharing!

K

Re: Experience with the Zürcher Hundezentrum Albisgüetli?

Sounds like a question for the Hundezentrum!

I know with SKN, there was a requirement to meet the hourly requirement, but different instructors met that in different ways. Some met it in 1 hour blocks, meeting once per week over 4 weeks. I met with my class for one hour on Friday and one hour on Saturday over two weeks. It was much nicer for my schedule this way, and I think was practical since the class doesn't really teach the dog anything, but is more geared towards the owner.

I can imagine that with the Kanton Zurich requirements there could also be such variations. So I think you should contact the center you are planning to work with to see how they have it structured and scheduled. And don't let German be a barrier. They'll still love to work with you.
